All registration fees are non-refundable unless the organizer cancels an event.
A participant is entitled to a one-time transfer of a registration to an event with an equal or lesser registration fee.
For our events we observe a ratio of 1 adult instructor or staff member for every 16 participants. Only instructors, staff members, volunteers and presenters are allowed in the event meeting room during program hours. During an event participants are not allowed to leave the venue. PIW staffers do not leave the venue with participants unless it is a planned departure for which parents have given written consent. All staff and volunteers undergo background screenings prior to working or participating in the our events.
For the safety of the participants, parents and guardians are asked to strictly observe the instructions for drop-off and pick-up for our events. These instructions are outlined in the welcome email that parents receive 48 hours prior to an event’s start.
We reserve the right to reschedule an event 10 days prior to the start of the event if there are fewer than 11 registrants for the event. In this instance registrants will be given the option to attend the rescheduled event or receive a full refund.
The Political Institute for Women is a private, independent organization and reserves the right to refuse a participant admittance to an event at the organization’s discretion.
Unless otherwise stated all events are hosted independently by the Political Institute for Women through the Girls in Politics Initiative and thus only subject to the policies and procedures established by the organization.
Sponsorships are awarded based on availability and are issued on a first come, first serve basis. Sponsorship funds will not be credited to any existing registrations.
The Girls in Politics Initiative ("GIP") is a program created and administered by the Political Institute for Women. Our GIP programs introduce girls ages 8 to 15 to politics, policy, the United States Congress, parliaments and the work of the United Nations.
